Former absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk did not criticize Vasyl Lomachenko for his silence about Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The 37-year-old boxer called his godfather "an incredibly cool brother" but refused to comment on his position.

Usyk said this in an interview with NV.ua. The native of Simferopol also added that he is calm about the criticism in his address, trying to ignore it. At the same time, Oleksandr noted that only those who have gone through a similar path can evaluate his actions.

"Vasili Anatolyevich is not here, so I can't say anything about my incredibly cool brother. I don't like it when people criticize him. Or me. Today I am a hero, and tomorrow I am not a hero. For my children, for my wife, for my environment, I am a hero, and that's enough for me. I don't pay attention to people's criticism, because I can only be criticized by someone who has gone the same way as me, or by my heavenly father for my sins," Usyk said.
