Hašek arrives in Ukraine

The legendary Czech ice hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hašek has arrived in Ukraine on a visit. The Nagano 98 Olympic champion has decided to demonstrate his support for our country and its people, who continue to fight against Russian aggressors.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Ice Hockey Federation on its Facebook page. The two-time Stanley Cup winner with Detroit arrived first in Kharkiv and then travelled to Kyiv. He recorded a special address to Ukrainians, wishing them good luck in the upcoming counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and wishing them peace.

"I am very happy to come to Kharkiv. To support everyone and say that I support Ukraine and Ukrainian sport. All the guys, all the kids. I want them to be able to play hockey again and go to school. Good luck to Ukraine, good luck to Kharkiv!" said Hašek in Russian.

Earlier, the former Czech goalkeeper called Russian hockey player and founder of the Putin Team movement Alexander Ovechkin a coward for keeping silent about the war in Ukraine. And Russian Olympic hockey champion Alexander Kozhevnikov called Hašek a sick man.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, goaltender of the NHL club Florida Panthers and the Russian national hockey team Sergei Bobrovsky did not answer questions about the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
