Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion and bold debutant of the super heavyweight division Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs) has faced a nightmarish tragedy in his family. The 37-year-old Cameroonian lost his son Kobe, who died at the age of 15.5 months.

Ngannou himself wrote about it on his Instagram page, confirming the information of the Cameroonian media. The athlete, who knocked out Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) last October, asked for help and support from his fans to survive one of the most terrible moments of his life.

"It was too early for him to go, but he did. My little son, my friend, my comrade Kobe was full of joy and life. And now he is lying lifeless. I call him again and again, but he does not answer. I felt the brightest side of me next to him. And now I don't understand who I am at all. Life is very unfair. It hits us in the most painful place. How do I go on living? Please help me. Share your ideas and advice with me," Ngannou wrote.

As a reminder, Francis held the UFC heavyweight championship belt. In 2023, he accepted Fury's challenge and fought him according to boxing rules. In the third round, the Cameroonian sent his opponent to the canvas, but lost by split decision.

On March 8 this year, Ngannou had his second boxing match in his career. This time, he lost to Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) without a chance, going into a deep knockout in the second round.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Anthony Joshua gave a new forecast for the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
