"He needs an army": Fury made a statement about the fight with Usyk
The World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is not worried about the injury he suffered in early February before his fight with Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). Back then, the Briton was cut in a sparring session, which forced the fight to be postponed from February 17 to May 18.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Fury expressed confidence that if he gets cut again in the fight with the Ukrainian, it will not affect his victory. The Gypsy King added that Usyk would need to gather an army to stop him.
"I heard Klychko say that the way to beat me is to aim for the cut, but that won't stop me. What is Usyk going to do? To cause a little blood, a little blood on me. That's not going to stop me. I just hope that the referee will let me fight if the cut reopens. He needs an army to stop me. Let him ignore my eye. The incision is what it is. If it opens up in the fight, it's fantastic," Fury said.
Before that, Tyson also reaffirmed that he will fight two fights against Usyk this year. And the British promoter Frank Warren mentioned the Russian Nikolay Valuev, promising that his ward would defeat the Ukrainian.
It also became known what will be depicted on Oleksandr's shorts in the fight. And artificial intelligence suggested how the fight between Usyk and Fury would end.
Earlier, the boxing teams had a fight that resulted in Tyson's father being cut. Ukrainian Stanislav Stepchuk, who was hit in the head by John Fury, commented on the incident.
Later, the boxer's father apologized. In turn, Tyson himself appeared in Saudi Arabia on crutches, puzzling fans and experts alike.
Earlier, Fury called Usyk a sausage again and promised to beat him. The British boxer also spoke about being bullied in his younger years, when he was offered to quit the sport, and admitted why he actually decided to fight the Ukrainian.
The referee of the Usyk-Fury fight also became known. He got into a few funny situations. Promoter Eddie Hearn wished the Ukrainian a defeat in the fight.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) will dep rive the winner of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury of his belt. The legendary Lennox Lewis has also decided on his favorite fighter.
