"Greedy Belly is afraid of me": Usyk answers the question about possible fight with Fury
World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) is avoiding a fight with Ukrainian unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) for fear of losing. That's why the Gypsy King chose the representative of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Francis Ngannou for his next fight.
Usyk himself shared this opinion in an interview with the British TV channel Sky Sports. He called the Fury's decision to fight not with the boxers who are on the top lines of the rating but with a representative of mixed martial arts who has never entered the ring quite strange.
"Awesome guys are going to make money. It's a great opportunity for Francis Ngannou, but it's not for Tyson Fury. Don't you think it's weird that Tyson didn't pick a top-10 guy to fight, choosing someone who has never boxed in the ring instad? Is he afraid of me? Of course he is! Greedy Belly is afraid of me," Usyk said.
Earlier, the promoter of our athlete Alexander Krasiuk criticized the fight Fury - Ngannou and expressed the opinion that Tyson should be deprived of the WBC championship belt. Also Alexander's representative said that the Briton refused to help Ukraine.
Our compatriot himself will make the mandatory defense of his titles against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) in Wroclaw on August 26. In case of victory, Oleksandr hopes to unify all the heavyweight belts in a fight with Fury.
