Pozdnyakov criticizes the IOC

The President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, has made absurd accusations against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its head, Thomas Bach. The Russian representative called the organization non-self-sufficient and was outraged by its support for Ukraine, whose criminal war against his country he considers a "political conflict."

Pozdnyakov, who does not make any decisions on his own but does everything on the instructions of the Kremlin, wrote about this in his Telegram channel. The accomplice of the dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin expressed the absurd idea that the IOC is in a parallel reality and is obliged to return Russia to world sport.

"From the very beginning, the IOC openly chose the side of the political conflict, which in itself contradicts its mission, and consistently fulfills the external political order to isolate Russian sport. Finally, Thomas Bach states that the resumption of relations between the IOC and Russia depends on the ROC. Are there still people in the world of sports who, thinking adequately, do not understand that the key to resolving artificially created contradictions in the Olympic family, which has always been in the hands of Lausanne, has now been handed over to it on the other side of the Atlantic? Unfortunately, the IOC has lost its independence. All slogans and declarations today come from the looking glass," Pozdnyakov said.

Earlier, Thomas Bach spoke out against the so-called collective responsibility of Russian athletes for the war in Ukraine. The Russian Federation itself has already started harassing athletes who agree to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status.
