Former midfielder of the Ukrainian youth national football team Serhiy Rozhok was killed in the war with the Russian occupiers, the Bucha District Football Association reports on Facebook. The hero was 38 years old.

"Today, while defending Ukraine, a great master of football, a man with a capital M, Serhiy Rozhok, died... there are no words for pain... we are losing the best..." - reads the obituary.

Serhiy was born in Slavutych (Kyiv region), where he started playing football at the Kaskad Children's and Youth Football Club. In 2000, he continued his studies at the school of Dynamo Kyiv. Since the beginning of 2001, he has been involved in the games of Dynamo's third team, and a year later he made his debut with the club's second team.

With no prospects of breaking into Dynamo's first team, in the spring of 2005, he joined Simferopol's Tavria, for whom he played only one game against Dnipro, which was his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League.

He then played for Zakarpattia, CSKA Moscow, FC Kharkiv, Desna, and Obolon. At Brewers, he immediately became a member of the team's first-team squad and helped the team return to the elite division of the Ukrainian championship.

Then Serhii managed to play in Kryvbas and Chornomorets, after which he moved to Minsk in 2012, where he quickly became a first-team player. As a member of the capital's team, he won the Belarusian Cup and made his debut in European competitions. He played mostly as a central midfielder. In December 2013, he left the team at the end of his contract.

Until the end of his career in 2018, he played for Zirka Kirovohrad, Neman, Vitebsk, Gomel, and Smolevychi.

He made his debut for the Ukrainian national teams in 2000, appearing in the U-16 team's game against Latvian peers. In 2001-2002, he played in three matches of the U-17 national team of Ukraine, and in 2003 he played his first match for the youth team. In total, during 2003-2005, he played 13 matches for the youth team, scoring two goals.
