Does he support Russia? Usyk's promoter tells how Fury refused to help Ukraine

Oleksandr ChekanovSport
Krasiuk spoke about Fury

The heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) refused to help Ukraine and intended to receive 70% of the fee for the fight with Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), which was scheduled to take place on 29 April in London. The Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, intended to embarrass our boxer, but in the end, he himself received a demand in return, which he refused to fulfil.

Oleksandr Krasiuk, Usyk's promoter, said this in an interview with Boxing Social. He refused to disclose the reason why Fury refused to support our country, which continues to resist Russian aggression, as the disclosure of this information would completely destroy the British reputation.

"Tyson Fury is avoiding a fight with Oleksandr Usyk. This is a fact. Fury became rich thanks to his fans, who bought tickets to his fights and paid for the broadcasts. And the fans want to see him fight Usyk. We were ready to hold it at Wembley in April, but we couldn't reach an agreement. Fury came up with a proposal to split the fee 70 per cent to 30 per cent. Usyk agreed and set a condition that Tyson had to pay a million dollars to Ukraine. Tyson didn't want to do that. And I will never disclose the reason why, because it will ruin his image forever," said Krasiuk.

On 26 August, Usyk will hold a mandatory defence against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). In case of successful defence of the belts, the Ukrainian expects to fight Fury for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. At the same time, Du Bois promised to "shock the world" and knock out the Ukrainian.

Saudi Arabia intended to organise the fights Usyk - Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 2 KOs) - Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.

Later, promoter Frank Warren announced that Tyson would not fight Usyk in Saudi Arabia in December this year. This decision of the Gypsy King shocked former world heavyweight champion Tony Bellew.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the famous Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov wished Oleksandr Usyk a defeat in the fight with Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian and the Briton have already held their first duel of views before the fight.
