"Betrayal of Ukraine". World sports legend makes a statement about the actions of the EU and the US
The legendary Czech hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hašek could not contain his emotions after the events of February 18, when a meeting between representatives of Russia and the United States took place in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The talks were attended by delegations from both countries and Saudi officials but without the participation of Ukraine.
Hašek, 60, is convinced that neither the EU, the US, nor anyone else has any right to negotiate with Russia on behalf of Ukraine (or even offer it anything) unless Ukraine has permitted to do so.
"I consider such actions to be a betrayal of Ukraine, which is risking its life to defend itself and Europe from the Russian imperialist enemy. Since it is also about protecting our country (which, after Ukraine and a possible further Russian attack on Poland or Slovakia, would be the next to be attacked), I consider such actions as a betrayal of the Czech Republic," Hašek wrote on social network X.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the media wrote that the events in Saudi Arabia should be a preparatory stage before the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, as well as another step towards the alleged improvement of relations between the countries.
Earlier, Hašek spoke angrily about American entrepreneur Elon Musk after he ridiculed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and our entire country. The Nagano 98 Olympic champion noted that the head of Space X is openly playing along with Russian aggressors.
It is worth noting that the Czech ex-goalkeeper has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine. After a trip to Kyiv and Kharkiv last summer, he recorded a video message to Ukrainians, wishing them to "drive away the Russian sh*t." In addition, Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov threw a real tantrum over the Czech's remarks.
