The legendary Czech goaltender Dominik Hašek has come out with a new harsh criticism of the National Hockey League (NHL) management before the start of the new season. The 1998 Olympic champion reminded that the officials continue to support the participation of Russian athletes in the tournament, advertising Russia's criminal war against Ukraine.

Hašek wrote about this on his page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The two-time Stanley Cup winner, who played 854 games in the NHL, emphasized that the league's management continues to be responsible for the huge number of victims of the war.

"This will be the third season that the NHL will once again become a huge advertisement for the Russian imperialist war and other Russian crimes, including the genocide of Ukrainian children. The NHL will again be responsible for a large number of lost and maimed human lives! The NHL became an advertisement for this war, because Russian citizens continued to perform and play in it! Every citizen, unless they are a dissident, is an advertisement for the actions of their country. In the case of Russia, these actions since February 2022 have been an imperialist war and other heinous crimes against humanity," Hašek said.

He urged fans not to forget that the NHL is actually turning a blind eye to Russia's crimes. "I have always loved and love hockey. But at the same time, I know that there are more important things. Nothing is worth more than a human life. That's why I want to tell all NHL fans that every time a player makes a great save or a shot, it's a great viewing experience, but at the same time it's even more advertising for the atrocities committed by Russians during the war in Ukraine! So this viewing experience, unfortunately, is worth human lives. These are the lives of people who are far away from you, you don't know them, but they are heroes who are fighting and dying to defend their homeland," the legendary athlete summarized.
