Ukrainian ski jumper Zhanna Hlukhova suffered a terrible fall at the Junior World Championships, which are currently taking place in Planika, Slovenia. The 17-year-old native of Prykarpattia failed to cope with the 102-meter springboard.
Immediately after landing, the Ukrainian leaned forward and then fell at a speed of about 90 km/h, hitting the back of her head. Zhanna was unable to get up, her skis were not unbuckled, and her legs were seriously twisted, with a high probability of injuring her knee ligaments.
The medics promptly provided first aid to our compatriot. She was taken on a stretcher to the nearest medical center.
On January 2, Ukrainian ski jumpers Yevhen Marusiak and Vitaliy Kalinichenko entered the top 30 at the third stage of the qualification for the Four Hills Tour, which is part of the World Cup program.
