During the Pacific Super Rugby match at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, a fan ran onto the field completely naked and found himself right in the middle of the game. This moment caused laughter in the stands, but became a real challenge for security services, writes Stuff.

Blues captain Patrick Tuipulotu expressed his condolences to the stewards, who had to wade between his team's players and the Chiefs to detain the offender. The incident became the most notable incident of the match, which ended in a 25-14 victory for the Chiefs in the first round of the season.

Although most of the offenders did not interfere with the game, one of them was too close to the players, forcing the referee to stop the match.

At that point, the hosts attacked and led 18:14 with 10 minutes left in the game. As the team was playing the ball in their own half of the field, referee Damon Murphy blew the whistle to stop the encounter while stewards surrounded the offender. After a short pause, the game resumed.

This incident was unusual because the fan ran right into the center of the action, which usually doesn't happen.

Tuipulotu admitted that it was a bit of a distraction, but his team was fully focused on the game:

The stadium was packed with 25,200 spectators, and despite the occasional downpour, most of them stayed in their seats. However, a few troublemakers tried to attract attention, and their antics will likely be dealt with by the Eden Park administration.

Chiefs captain Luke Jacobson took the situation in stride. He was one of those who was closest to the naked fan:

"You just have to laugh. It's not the best moment for the game, but it didn't deter us at all. We just let the security take care of it, the referee stopped the clock, and then we continued."

Blues head coach Vern Cotter did not attach much importance to the incident:

"I didn't even notice these guys. I was looking at the next scrum, and then I see there are more people on the field than there should be. I thought they were Chiefs players (laughs). Everything settled down quickly, and we got back to the game."
