A 108-pound super heavyweight punched the referee in the head as hard as he could during the fight. Video
Dutch referee Edward Strikert received a sudden blow to the head at the kickboxing tournament Glory Collision 5, which was held in Rotterdam. The incident happened in the fight between heavyweights Antonio Plazibat from Croatia and Tariq Osaro from Nigeria.
At the end of the round, the fighters rushed into the exchange without hearing the bell. The referee tried to separate the kickboxers, but Plazibat didn't have time to react. The 108-pound super heavyweight swung it right into Edward's chin.
It took Strickert some time to recover from the knockdown, after which he continued to work. He refused medical assistance and a replacement.
Later on his Instagram account, he reacted to the incident with irony. Strikert posted a shot of himself "getting hit" in the jaw, signing it with the phrase "What a glorious evening".
