China will most likely not participate in the Ukraine Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16. As of November 11, Beijing's representatives had not confirmed their participation.

This was clarified by the spokesperson for the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Nikiforov, on the air of the united national TV marathon. As a reminder, in late May, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that they would not be attending the conference in Switzerland.

"As of now, there is no confirmation from China that they will participate in the summit. And the hopes that they will participate in the summit are illusory," Nikiforov explained.

Earlier, Beijing explained its decision with the fact that there would be no Russian representatives at the event.

According to Der Spiegel, China's refusal to participate in the Global Peace Summit was a "bitter disappointment" for Volodymyr Zelenskyy. And his unexpected visit to the Singapore Security Summit on June 9 was connected with this decision of China.

As reported, on June 11, American pop diva Madonna supported the Global Peace Summit, which is scheduled for June 15-16 and will focus on the full-scale war in Ukraine. The star emphasized the fate of children during the war and called on everyone to join her in this fight.
