The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has issued a commemorative medal "Sergeant Corps". The presentation was attended not only by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshny, but also by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny. The medal was awarded to four sergeants, but it can also be purchased as a souvenir for UAH 49.
The medal is dedicated to sergeants and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its circulation will be 200,000 pieces, the NBU said.
The obverse of the medal features the slogan of sergeants and sergeants major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: "Follow me! Do what I do!" In the center is a picture of a Ukrainian sergeant-leader leading soldiers into battle. The reverse bears the inscriptions: "Sergeant Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine", the motto "Honor, Devotion, Responsibility, Professionalism", as well as the symbols of the Sergeant Corps and a stylized trident.
The commemorative medal is made of nickel silver, the minting quality category is "special uncirculated". The weight is 16.5 g, the diameter is 35 mm. You can buy the medal
- in the NBU's online numismatic products store;
- at distributor banks: Ukrgasbank, Radabank, Tascombank, and PrivatBank.
The price of the medal is 49 UAH. However, there are restrictions on online sales. Thus, the NBU's online store sells only one medal per person. As of the evening of November 17, 992 pieces were available.
In addition, during the presentation on November 17, Pyshny and Zaluzhny presented commemorative medals to four sergeants. The honorees were:
- Master Sergeant Denys Skupy, deputy commander of the military unit;
- Staff Sergeant Yevheniy Okhremenko, commander of the basic training platoon of the military unit;
- Staff Sergeant Volodymyr Khymych, sergeant-instructor of the platoon for training of advanced TA instructors of the academic level of the military unit;
- Senior Master Sergeant Yuriy Klymkin, Deputy Head of the CLSSC of the NUOU.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the NBU issued a new 10 UAH coin "Antonivsky Most" dedicated to the anniversary of the de-occupation of Kherson. The coin is a commemorative one, but it has also been in circulation since November 10.
