Will receive a bomb. Information has emerged about what will happen in the Usyk-Fury fight on May 18

The coach of the Ukrainian heavyweight gave a frank interview

The trainer and manager of WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) believes that his client will achieve an undisputed victory over WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The fight will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on May 18.

As a confirmation of his opinion, Serhiy Lapin recalls that Fury received a serious cut through his helmet and while wearing training gloves.

"Can you imagine what will happen to his head when he gets a ten-ounce glove bomb from Usyk? If Fury finally decides to enter the ring on May 18, it will be a nightmare for him, he has never boxed a fighter of this level in his life," Lapin said on the Fruity Slots podcast.

At the same time, the trainer questions the real reason for Tyson's autopsy.

"In this modern era, with all the advanced and protective helmets available to top-level fighters, as well as the large gloves used in sparring, it seems impossible to me that he would have sustained such an injury during training," Lapin said.

Serhiy's instinct tells him that something suspicious has happened.

"Maybe because Fury wasn't ready for the fight. Maybe he was dropped badly in the sparring, and they needed to gain more time. But are we really surprised that Tyson Fury keeps running away from Usyk? Are we surprised that Fury found another way to avoid the fight? No. This is nothing new," Lapin summarized.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Usyk-Fury fight was originally scheduled for February 17, but Fury suffered a serious cut on February 2 during training. Because of this, the fight was officially postponed to the spring of 2024.

Turki Al al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Entertainment, said the May 18 show will go ahead anyway. The organizer of the boxing night in Riyadh has come up with a rule that will prevent the fight from being disrupted again.

In addition, Turki Al al-Sheikh noted that Usyk or Tyson will face a $10 million fine if either of them refuses to perform.
