Why Usyk wore an upside-down flag of Ukraine in the rematch with Fury: an explanation was found on the Internet

The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) impressed not only with his boxing in the rematch with Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). Fans were also interested in the images and outfits the boxer showed during media events.

Particular attention was drawn to Usyk's purple suit with an upside-down Ukrainian flag. Many fans drew attention to this detail, which was worn by all members of Oleksandr's team, and suggested that it could not be considered a mistake but had symbolism.

There are several versions of this design decision. Some suggest that the upside-down arrangement of the flag on the sleeve is intended to ensure that when the arms are raised, the flag is displayed in its traditional color.

Some Ukrainians also claim that the yellow and blue flag is authentic to our country. This sequence of colors demonstrates the position of the sun over the water and was approved by the head of the Ukrainian Central Rada, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, in 1917.

In addition, for many centuries, an upside-down national flag has been used by sailors on ships to report distress and ask for help. Given Russia's military aggression, this could be the motive for placing the flag in this way.
