"We were in a dire situation": Fury's coach explains what needs to be changed in Usyk rematch

Lee speaks out on Usyk-Fury rematch

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) will not change his team for the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs). At the same time, it was the confusion in the British corner that played a role in the defeat of the Gypsy King by the Ukrainian in the fight on May 18.

This opinion was expressed by one of Fury's trainers Andy Lee in an interview with Boxing Scene. According to the expert, Tyson is now determined to take revenge - he took his defeat philosophically, and he also clearly understands what he has to do in the second fight against Usyk.

"There was a lot of voices in the corner – we were in a dire situation, and had to get him back to himself. I was told, and I believed, he was two rounds down, so I had to speak up about that. When you lose, you’re open to criticism. But I believe in Tyson. He’s probably had harder fights – bigger challenges in boxing, and he’s had much bigger challenges in life – so this will be nothing for him. He probably needs to be heavier," Lee said.

On October 23, Usyk and Fury had their first duel of looks before their rematch on December 21. The Ukrainian appeared there in an unusual way, changing his look.

In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
