Our girls failed to win a single award

Ukraine's rhythmic gymnastics team took seventh place out of eight participants at the 2024 Olympics in the group all-around. Diana Baieva, Alina Melnyk, Mariia Vysochenska, Valeriia Peremeta and Kira Shyrykina scored 65.700 points (36.500 for the 5 hoops performance and 29.150 points for the 3-ball 2-ball).

Our girls had a great start to the competition, taking the second intermediate place after the first rotation. Only China was ahead of the Ukrainians.

The girls demonstrated incredible precision in their hooping performance. Sometimes even the audience could not keep track of the girls' interaction.

The fans were especially enthusiastic about the element "passing into the hoop while jumping", which was flawlessly performed by Valeriia Peremeta. None of the competing teams had ever done this before.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian gymnasts did much worse in the second round: during the jump, the ball hit the gymnast, the ribbon got tangled, and then one of the athletes missed two elements, which ultimately affected the score. The judges gave the Ukrainian team the lowest score.

The team of China won (69.800). Israel took second place (68850). "Bronze" for Italy (68.100).
