To transfer 21 million UAH to the "Army of drones": HACC's verdict on the case of the accomplice of the Supreme Court ex-head Kniazev
Lawyer Oleh Horetskyi, who, along with former head of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Kniazev, is accused of taking $2.7 million in bribes, was sentenced to 5 years in prison without confiscation of property. The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) released the defendant from serving his sentence with a probationary period of three years and approved the agreement between the prosecutor and the defendant.
According to the agreement, Horetskyi is obliged to transfer UAH 21 million to the Army of Drones project, cooperate with the prosecution, and provide incriminating evidence. About UAH 29 million seized during the investigation will also be transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).
The HACC panel of judges approved the plea agreement on October 12, the statement said.
Thus, the court found Horetskyi guilty of aiding and abetting a bribe to an official holding a particularly responsible position and a third party, as well as giving such a bribe, and fraud (Part 5 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 369, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"The court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property. Based on Art. 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the court released the person from serving the sentence with a probationary period of 3 years," the SAP said.
Under the terms of the agreement, Horetskyi is obliged to cooperate with the investigation and testify, as well as donate UAH 21 million to the joint project of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the State Special Communications Service, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Army of Drones.
About UAH 29 million will also be transferred to support the Armed Forces. In addition, $350,000 is being seized as a special confiscation, the SAP said.

- On May 15, the NABU said that they detained a Supreme Court judge while receiving a bribe together with the SAP. According to the investigation, the management and ordinary judges were involved in a large corruption scheme.
- According to media reports, Kniazev received a bribe for a decision in favor of oligarch Kostiantyn Zhevaho.
- In court, the former Supreme Court chief said that the money allegedly belonged to his wealthy friends, and he was allegedly given it for safekeeping. The court remanded him in custody with the possibility of posting UAH 80 million bail.
- On October 4, the NABU and the SAP announced that the investigation of Kniazev's case was complete. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
