"Is not on the field": Dynamo legend names Mudryk's main problem
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk faced serious problems in the English Premier League due to his inability to work with the ball and lack of space on the field. The Ukrainian national team player must learn to play in a completely different way than he did at Shakhtar Donetsk, where zones were opened for him.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with 1927.kiev.ua by the legendary football player of Dynamo Kyiv and former team coach Jozsef Szabo. The 1972 Olympic bronze medalist emphasized that in the English championship, defenders act very tough and tight, not giving Mudryk room to run.
"Mudryk was also bought by Chelsea because Shakhtar opened 'windows' and 'corridors' for him – Mykhailo would run away at speed and score. In England, they don't let you do that – Mudryk is not on the field. Mykhailo was not taught how to work with the ball – it should be like a magnet at his feet. Mudryk wants to throw it forward and run away, and there is a backup," Sabo said.
Earlier, former goalkeeper of Kherson's Krystal and Oleksandriya's Polyhraftekhnika Vyacheslav Bohodelov shared his memories of working with Mudryk in the Ukrainian youth national team.
