The final race took place in Hochfilzen

The Ukrainian national team of Anastasia Merkushyna, Yulia Dzhima, Iryna Petrenko and Khrystyna Dmytrenko took 10th place in the relay at the 2nd stage of the Biathlon World Cup. The race took place in Hochfilzen, Austria.

Anastasia Merkushyna had a bad start to her stage. The 28-year-old native of Ternopil region made two inaccurate shots at the first firing line, which immediately threw her to the end of the peloton. The stand was a real nightmare for Nastia. She managed to close the target with only two additional rounds. Together with her low speed, this resulted in Julia Jima entering the second stage in 12th place, more than 70 seconds behind the leading Sweden.

Dzhima started the race with a perfect score on the bed, but then failed on the rack. Two of the 33-year-old's shots went into the "milk" and she took the time to close the targets with two additional rounds.

Before the third stage, Ukraine continued to stay in the top ten, but Iryna Petrenko's excellent performance with one miss helped our team to climb to the 9th place. Unfortunately, Ira "sank" on her last lap, losing 20 seconds.

Dmytrenko went into the battle trailing +2:22.6 behind the Norwegians. The young Ukrainian failed to make a miracle, making one miss at each firing line and losing more than 3 minutes in the end.
