Ukrainian track and field athlete Yuliia Levchenko failed to make it to the finals of the high jump competition at the 2024 Olympic Games, which are currently taking place in Paris. Our compatriot dropped out of the tournament after failing to clear the bar at the first mark.

Levchenko made three attempts to jump 1 meter 83 centimeters. The most successful was the last jump, during which the Ukrainian almost flew over the bar, but at the last moment, she caught it with her calves.

Our compatriot was the only one in Group B who failed to conquer the first height, and she finished her performance in the French capital without a result.

After her unsuccessful performance, the athlete commented on her result. In particular, she emphasized that she was glad that she had managed to avoid injury. "I want to thank the coach for making sure I was okay here. Why were there so many injuries? I think it's just the Olympics. Everyone is trying to perform to the best of their abilities, and to the best of your abilities is always tension in the body," Levchenko said.

For Yuliia, it was the third Olympic Games in her career. In Rio 2016, Levchenko took 19th place, and in Tokyo 2020, the Ukrainian made it to the final, where she finished 8th. The athlete got married on the eve of her trip to Paris.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Herashchenko continued their performances at the 2024 Olympic Games in the high jump sector. Both of our compatriots cleared the qualifying mark of 1.95 meters and reached the finals. Moreover, Yaroslava did it from the first place.
