Shortcakes are a hearty dish that will be an alternative to bread and rolls. They look somewhat like Ukrainian palianytsia. They are based on a simple dough and made with water and no yeast. Moreover, the cakes don't even need to be baked.
Food blogger Yevhenia Kholodkova (kholodkova_gotue) shared a recipe for fried shortcakes on her Instagram page.

2. Pour sifted flour (350 g) into the resulting liquid. Add the rest of the flour gradually, kneading the dough. When ready, it should not stick to your hands. Put it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and leave for 5-10 minutes.
3. Roll the dough into a sausage and divide into 6 equal parts.
