Organizers of the Usyk – Fury rematch showed contempt for the Ukrainian

Usyk beats Fury on May 18

The head of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh, made a glaring mistake in announcing the undercard of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The organizers of the boxing night broke all the rules and made our champion the nominal guest of the fight.

On his page on the social network X, formerly Twitter, Al-Sheikh announced the Fury – Usyk 2 fight, not Usyk – Fury 2, as it should be, given that the Ukrainian is the champion and his opponent is a contender. After pointing out the mistake, the Saudi corrected himself and presented the correct fight poster.

"Before the two giants meet in the fight "Usyk – Fury. Revival", the undercard has to set the ring on fire. With some of the biggest names in boxing stepping into the ring, these fights will set the stage for an unforgettable night. Make a note in your calendar: December 21 is a night you won't want to miss," wrote Al-Sheikh.

In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision  114:113, 113:114, 115:112 and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.

A month after the fight, on May 18, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which was defended by Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) on September 21, brutally knocking out Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

Before that, Oleksandr spoke categorically about what would happen if Tyson tried to disrupt the rematch. He also shared his expectations for the second fight with Fury and responded to accusations of cheating during the May 18 fight. In addition, Oleksandr told what he learned from this fight.

The legendary Wladimir Klitschko shared his expectations from the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the fighters' second fight. In addition, Russian Alexander Povetkin attributed the success of our compatriot to Russia.

In turn, Russian boxing coach Andrei Ivichuk called Tyson the winner of the upcoming rematch with Oleksandr. And the Ukrainian named the only boxer he is interested in fighting after the second fight with the Briton.

In addition, Joshua answered the question of who he would like to see win the rematch between Usyk and Fury. The Briton himself named his motivation for the second fight against our compatriot. He also told us when he would start preparing for the fight.
