Not December 23: it became known when the Usyk-Fury fight will take place

The fight between Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion will not take place this year. The show's organizers have finally abandoned the idea of holding the fight in Saudi Arabia on December 23.

This was reported by the authoritative American TV channel ESPN, citing its own sources. According to it, one of the Saturdays of February next year (4, 11, 18, 25) has been set as the new date for the historic fight, which will have four championship belts at stake for the first time.

The main reason for this decision was the injuries that Fury received in the fight with Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs) on October 28. In particular, Tyson received a small cut on his forehead, as well as a powerful black eye.

Earlier, the media reported that the British boxer is facing a $240 million lawsuit if he refuses to enter the ring with Usyk on December 23.

As a reminder, Fury defeated Ngannou by a split decision. The Englishman was knocked down in the third round. Immediately after the fight between the British and the French Cameroonian, Usyk climbed into the ring and had a duel of looks with the British boxer.

The British promoter Frank Warren categorically stated that the fight between the British and Ukrainian for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion will not take place this year.
