Monzul will end her career for a position in the UAF

Famous Ukrainian football referee Kateryna Monzul will announce her retirement from refereeing on February 20. The 42-year-old Kharkiv resident, who was previously suspended from working at national tournaments for a mistake in a game against Shakhtar Donetsk, will head the referees' committee of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF).

Famous commentator and journalist Viktor Vatsko said this in his author's program "Vatsko LIVE ". According to him, Italian Luciano Luci, who has been heading the committee since 2015, will leave his post, and the new UAF president Andrii Shevchenko is determined to solve the problems with refereeing.

"But the main thing now is not to let it happen as it does in other areas of our country when instead of fighting corruption, it is headed by the new government. But as far as I know, Shevchenko is really determined to break this system of corruption. I believe that the quality of arbitration is one of the most interesting and challenging issues of the spring part of Ukrainian football," said Vatsko.

It should be noted that Monzul started refereeing at the age of 18. She became the first female referee of the Ukrainian Premier League. She served the finals of the World and European Girls' Championships and was recognized as the best referee in the world.
