"It won't be super interesting": Gassiev's Russian coach speaks about Usyk-Fury fight

Slanov assesses the fight between Usyk and Fury

Russian boxing coach Vitaly Slanov has criticized Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) for their fighting style. The coach of former world heavyweight champion Marat Gassiev (30-2-0-1, 23 KOs) predicted that the fight between the Ukrainian and the British will not be spectacular.

He expressed this opinion in an interview with the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The specialist, who works with Usyk's former rival, called Oleksandr and Tyson legends of world boxing, but at the same time, allegedly uninteresting to fans because they are not knockouts.

"I don't think the fight will be very interesting. Two legendary and great boxers meet. But their styles... So I don't expect the fight to be super interesting," Slanov said.

As a reminder, Usyk and Fury will fight on May 18, after the fight in February had to be postponed due to the British autopsy. Afterward, Tyson spoke frankly about his injury. In addition, the Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakic (20-2, 18 KOs), who dealt the fatal blow, presented his version of the event.

Dereck Chisora (34-14, 23 KOs), a former rival of the two boxers, gave his categorical forecast for the fight. In addition, the legendary Vitaliy Klychko gave original advice to the Gypsy King.

At the same time, the Ukrainian's team has already decided on a boxer who will replace Tyson if he refuses to enter the ring again. If the Briton does so, he will also face a multimillion-dollar fine.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Tyson Fury's father John sharply attacked Oleksandr Usyk's team representatives after they questioned the British boxer's injury.
