The Irish boxing trainer Peter McDonagh, who calls himself a personal friend of the British Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), advised the WBC heavyweight champion to end his career before the fight against the IBF/WBO/WBA titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The main fight for the absolute championship is scheduled for February 17.

"This is a strange fight for Fury because usually he gets inside the head of his opponents. I don't think he'll be able to do that with Oleksandr Usyk," McDonagh said in an interview with iFL TV, as translated by Vringe.

McDonagh is concerned about Tyson's mental health.

"Do I think Fury can beat Usyk? Yes, I do. But do I think there is something missing in Tyson Fury? 100%! For me, as his friend, a close friend, I would like to see Tyson Fury finish his career, that's my opinion, I would like him to quit because if things go wrong... I don't think about money or anything else. I think it can kill him," the Irish coach added.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, WBA, WBO and IBF titles holder Oleksandr Usik (20-0, 13 KOs) will fight Fury on February 17, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
