"I'm just grateful": Fury admits what pleased him most about the fight with Usyk

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) called his fight against Oleksandr Usyk (922-0, 14 KOs), in which he was defeated by a unanimous decision, a magical one. The Gypsy King, as the Briton is called, emphasized that he was most happy because his opponents had no serious injuries.

Fury himself said this in an interview with Boxing Scene. The former World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder noted that now both he and Oleksandr will spend time with their families and recover, and then, probably, they will fight again in the ring in a rematch.

"I'm very happy. I think I did everything I could and I thought I won the fight, but what happened was what happened. I'm happy with the performance. We both got paid and we're both going home to our beautiful wives and kids, that's the thing. We put on a show for the fans. Usyk is 37. I'm almost 36. We're not little kids anymore. We're at the end of our careers and we're having brilliant fights, so I'm proud of myself. I'm just grateful that both of us got out of the ring in one piece and we move on to the next page," Fury said.

After the fight, the Briton called the war in Ukraine one of the reasons for his defeat. Tyson also expressed his desire to visit Ukraine.

At the same time, referee Mark Nelson's decision to score Tyson a knockdown in the ninth round drew criticism from experts. Usyk was hospitalized immediately after the fight.

World lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) reacted to his compatriot's victory in three words. In Russia, the Ukrainian's triumph was called a victory for "the entire Slavic people."
