Ukrainian light heavyweight boxer Yehor Velikovskyi (11-0, 7 KOs) is helping Russian WBO, WBC, and IBF champion Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs), who holds a Canadian passport, prepare for his fight against another Russian, Dmitry Bivol. The 24-year-old native of Mykolaiv posted a photo of a joint training session with Beterbiev in Montreal on his Instagram.

"After three weeks of difficult sparring with the world champion, I feel a charge of motivation, confidence, and a sense of a new stage in my professional career," Velikovskyi said.

In addition, Yehor posted a video of himself getting an autograph from Beterbiev, who publicly supports Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

On May 4, champion Beterbiev announced that he had torn his meniscus and canceled his absolute title fight against WBA belt holder Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs), which was scheduled for June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The rescheduled meeting is to take place on October 12.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on April 20, Velikovskyi confidently defeated his compatriot Petro Lakotskyi (3-5, 3 KOs) at a boxing evening in Munich.
