"I believe in Usyk's victory": unbeaten heavyweight explained why Fury will lose the main fight of 2024
Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) has named Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) as the favorite in a fight with Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) for the world heavyweight title. The 31-year-old Zagreb native noted that the Ukrainian has a slight advantage over his opponent due to his skills.
Hrgovic, who scored a spectacular 100-second victory at a boxing event in Riyadh on December 23, said this in an interview with Boxing Social. The Stone Man, as the Croatian is called, who promised to destroy Usyk, admired our compatriot and suggested that he would beat Fury.
"I believe in Usyk's victory. I think this is a fight with a 50-50 chance of winning. It will be tough for both of them, but I give Usyk a slight advantage in this fight because he's always in great shape, he has great footwork, and he throws a lot of punches. He's a really good fighter," Hrgovic said. It should be noted that the Croatian is a mandatory contender for one of Oleksandr's belts.
As a reminder, the Usyk-Fury fight is scheduled for February 17. Former world champion Anthony Joshua (27-3, 23 KOs) gave his unequivocal prediction for this fight and explained why our compatriot will win. It was also reported how the Ukrainian's move to the super-heavyweight division affected the division.
The legendary Evander Holyfield explained why Usyk will win the fight against Fury. In turn, the Ukrainian did not disclose his tactical plan for the fight, but Oleksandr's camp representative told us about the progress of his preparations.
In turn, the World Boxing Council (WBC) announced the contenders for the fight against the winner of the Fury-Usyk confrontation. In addition, the Ukrainian boxer puzzled British fans with his training. The sex symbol of world boxing, Australian Ebanie Bridges made a categorical prediction for the confrontation between the Ukrainian and the British.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Tyson Fury's promoter Frank Warren does not consider the fight with Oleksandr Usyk to be the most difficult in his client's career. In his turn, Eddie Hearn expressed hope for the British victory. And former world champion Carl Froch dramatically changed his forecast for the fight on February 17.
