Hungary refuses to extradite Russian suspect in Amina Okuyeva's murder to Ukraine
Igor Redkin, a suspect in the 2017 murder of surgeon, activist and military officer Amina Okuyeva, fled Ukraine in the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion and is hiding in Hungary. Budapest refused to extradite him to Kyiv.
This was reported to Kavkaz.Realii by the Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Andrii Nebytov. He clarified that the decision not to extradite the criminal suspect to Ukraine was made by a Hungarian court. This was explained by the war on the territory of our country.
Igor Redkin is a native of Kaspiysk (Dagestan, Russia). For a long time, he lived in Ukraine and had a business in the IT sector. According to the investigation, he was a member of a criminal group that was engaged in contract killings.
Former MP Ihor Mosiichuk, for whom Okuyeva worked as an assistant, said, "Redkin managed to escape from the investigation in 2022, at the beginning of the great war."
Redkin (and several other people) were detained in 2020 on suspicion of involvement in Okuyeva's murder. The car of the activist and her husband, Adam Osmayev, was attacked at a railway crossing near the village of Hlevakha, Kyiv region, on October 30, 2017. Osmayev was injured, and Okuyeva died: a bullet hit her in the head.
Osmayev, the commander of the Dzhokhar Dudayev battalion fighting against the occupiers, accused the then-Russian officials of the crime.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Serbia has refused to extradite former SSU General Andrii Naumov, who is facing a number of criminal cases and is on the international wanted list by Ukrainian law enforcement, to Ukraine. Last summer, he was detained on the border between Serbia and North Macedonia on suspicion of money laundering.
