Pickled mackerel is a great appetizer that can be prepared every day or served on holiday tables. The fish turns out to be tasty and juicy, while the characteristic odor will be absent.

A food blogger with the nickname viktoria food0 on TikTok showed her own method of marinating mackerel. She uses a marinade with tomato sauce, which will make the fish incredibly tender in texture, and everyone will definitely like its taste.

Ingredients

  • Mackerel - 2 pieces
  • Ketchup - 6 tbsp
  • Oil - 180 ml
  • Sugar - 3 tbsp
  • Salt - 1.5 tbsp
  • Coriander with peas - 1 tsp
  • Black peppercorns - 1 tsp.
  • Allspice - 4-6 pcs.
  • Bay leaf - 2-3 pieces
  • Vinegar 9% - 75 ml

Method of preparation.

1. Wash the fish, clean it, and cut it into 4-6 pieces each.

2. Cut the onion into half rings and put them on the bottom of a glass container with a lid.

3. Put the fish on the onion. Put another layer of onions on top.

4. Put all the ingredients for the marinade in the saucepan, except for the vinegar.

5. Turn on the heat and stir constantly.

6. After boiling, pour in the vinegar and turn off the heat.

7. Pour in the chilled marinade and refrigerate for one day.
