What to look for when choosing a pineapple?

  • Crown
  • Color
  • Hardness

Pick up a pineapple and check how the crown moves. If it is almost stationary, the pineapple is green. If the crown is completely twisted, the pineapple is overripe.

Color

You should also check the color of the bottom of the pineapple. It should be yellow or slightly orange. If you see green, the pineapple is green. If it is brown, the pineapple is overripe.

Softness

Pay attention to the hardness.

When you press on the pineapple, the ripe fruit should deform slightly. A hard pineapple indicates that it is not ripe. A pineapple that is too soft, on the contrary, means that it is overripe and you should not buy it.
