How much Usyk and Fury will earn for the fight. Boxers' fees announced

On February 17, 2024, the first-ever heavyweight boxing match for the absolute championship of the four-belt era will take place. WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF titles holder Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) will fight WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs).

Three weeks before the mega-fight, the press had little information about the athletes' fees. The amount of $100 million that Fury will earn was announced by promoter Bob Arum back in October. Given that Arum is a vested interest and his goal is to stir up interest in the fight, this figure is questionable.

The figures mentioned by expert Simon Jordan in a May podcast on talkBOXING look more realistic: Fury's fee could be £90 million (about $115 million), and Usyk will earn £50 million (a little over $60 million).

Since then, the situation has changed a bit. Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, whom the organizers of the boxing night in Riyadh were going to bring together in the main fight, will not perform at the event. Thus, part of the money that was planned to be spent on them may well go to Usyk and Fury.

At the same time, the rescheduling of the fight to February was an unpleasant surprise for the Saudis. They wanted to make the meeting the main event at the annual Riyadh Season festival, for which the Kingdom allocates hundreds of millions of dollars.

The Sun tabloid reported that due to Tyson's refusal to hold the fight in December 2023, he was facing a huge lawsuit from the Saudi leadership. It's possible that the British fighter's fee could be significantly affected by the failure to fulfill his contractual obligations.
