Ukraine wins 12 medals at the 2024 Olympic Games

The day before, the 2024 Olympic Games ended in Paris. Ukraine was represented by 140 athletes, who brought our country 12 medals – three gold, five silver, and four bronze. This is the best performance of the Blue and Yellows over the past 12 years.

The prize money for our athletes remained at the same level as in Tokyo 2020: $125,000 for first place, $100,000 for second place, and $80,000 for third place. This means that saber fencer Olha Harlan received the most bonuses for her performance in the French capital. Together with the team, she won gold at the Games and became a bronze medalist in the individual competition. This brought her $205,000 from the state.

Boxer Oleksandr Khyzhniak, fencers Olena Kryvytska, Yuliia Bakastova, Alina Komashchuk, and high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh will each receive 125 thousand. The latter will receive an additional $50,000 from the international federation World Athletics.

Wrestling representatives Parviz Nasibov and Iryna Koliadenko, speed skaters Liudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Rybiachok, shooter Serhii Kulish, and gymnast Illia Kovtun earned 100 thousand dollars each at the Games. Wrestler Zhan Beleniuk, hammer thrower Mykhailo Kokhan, and high jumper Iryna Herashchenko each received $80,000.

The total payments to the athletes will amount to $1 million 670 thousand. It should be noted that Mahuchikh has already announced that part of the money will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces.
