WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) gave a press conference before his fight against Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). While talking to journalists, the Ukrainian admitted that the WBC titleholder is actually afraid of him.

"Whether he wants to fight or not, I don't know. But the fact that he is afraid is true," rtfight.com quoted the 37-year-old native of Simferopol as saying.

According to Usyk, he put a lot on the line in this fight, but he won't blame Tyson for what happened.

"We just have to take it very seriously because we're on a different level with Tyson Fury. We have to cross out every little detail in order to continue training and get into the ring. And it's weakness to condemn people for any mistakes. I understand the situation perfectly. And even if someone is playing me, they are playing by my rules," said Alexander.

Now Usyk is going to stay at home for a few days to see his wife and newborn daughter, and then return to training.

"Because I have a hot ring waiting for me," Oleksandr said.

As we previously reported, Fury was injured on February 2 while preparing for the fight against Usyk. The fight, originally scheduled for February 17, was officially postponed.

Tyson issued a statement apologizing for the disruption of the fight and also showed a video of the moment of the injury.

Usyk's representatives commented cautiously on the situation with the fight's cancellation.

Earlier, the media reported on who could replace Tyson Fury in the fight with Usyk on February 17.

The legendary Lennox Lewis, who is the last absolute world heavyweight champion today, has already reacted to the failure of the megafight. According to the 58-year-old boxer, Tyson will need about 3 months to recover.

At the same time, Turki Al al-Sheikh made an official statement about the cancellation of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Turki Al al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Entertainment, said the May 18 show will go ahead anyway. The organizer of the boxing evening in Riyadh has come up with a rule that will prevent the fight from being disrupted again.

In addition, Turki Al Al-Sheikh noted that either Usyk or Tyson will face a $10 million fine if either of them refuses to perform.
