"He has a higher level": 6-time world champion from Russia gave an unequivocal forecast for the Usyk-Fury fight

Vasilevsky named the winner of the fight between Usyk and Fury

Russian former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Vyacheslav Vasilevsky expressed confidence in the victory of Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) over Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs). The six-time world combat sambo champion noted that the Ukrainian will have the experience of a long amateur career on his side, which makes him more skilled.

Vasilevsky said this in an interview with the propaganda outlet Rossiyskaya Gazeta, commenting on the fight to be held on May 18. The athlete, who has fought 45 fights in MMA (36 victories), added that Usyk is simply driving Fury around the ring and should win on points.

"Fury is a technical and unconventional boxer. But, as for me, Usyk will win. It will be difficult for Fury to do anything with him. Usyk always comes to fights incredibly charged, he has a higher level. And it's hard to do anything with his technique and class, provided that Usyk doesn't get tired. The fight promises to be competitive. Usually, you can't find the keys to Usyk, but here Fury is a very unconventional boxer. Plus his size. In general, it will be difficult for Usyk, but he will take the fight on points," Vasilevsky said.

The fight between Alexander and Tyson was originally scheduled for February 17, but the Gypsy King suffered a cut during sparring two weeks before the show. The Manchester native apologized for his injury, and a video of the incident was posted online.

The Briton also made a statement about the end of his career. The main reasons why Fury will not be able to refuse to enter the ring against the Ukrainian again were named.

When asked about the fake nature of the injury, Usyk criticized the Gypsy King. In addition, fans reacted angrily to the situation. Usyk's trainer Sergey Lapin named a boxer who would replace Tyson in case of his absence from the ring.

The incident was also commented on by Croatian boxer Agron Smakic (20-2, 18 KOs), who dealt Fury the ill-fated blow. But ex-champion Carl Froch called the British fighter's injury suspicious.

Bookmakers reacted unexpectedly to the postponement of the Usyk-Fury fight, changing one of the quotes on its outcome. Two conditions were also revealed that the Ukrainian demanded to fulfill when he agreed to postpone his return to the ring on February 17. In addition, the media announced Tyson and Oleksandr's fees for the show.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk shared Oleksandr Usyk's plans after he fights Tyson Fury. In addition, it became known when the Briton will return to training. In his turn, former welterweight champion Steve Cunningham gave an unexpected reason why Usyk will beat Fury.
