Fury withdrew from the fight against Usyk for the second time: Hvozdyk said what our champion should do in this case

Maksym InshakovNews
The fight was originally scheduled for May 18

Former world light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Hvozdyk (20-1, 16 KOs) believes that if WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) disrupts the fight with undefeated Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) for the second time, the Crimean should look for another opponent. In early February, Tyson suffered a dissection, which canceled the fight on February 17, and the meeting was postponed to the spring of 2024.

At the same time, Hvozdyk sees no reason for the Usyk – Fury heavyweight championship fight on May 18 to be canceled again. The former champion suggested that perhaps the first failure was due to the promotion of the fight.

"In reality, I think they have marinated it [the fight promotion – Ed. If it was done for this purpose, then it's enough not to over-salt it. I think the fight should take place right now if that's the reason. And if Fury is doing this because he feels he's not ready... Well, then let him really leave the title and let Sanya box with some Hrgovich or Parker. Something like that," Gvozdyk said in an interview with the Viktor Yalymov Boxing Studio YouTube channel.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Usyk-Fury fight will be officiated by neutral judges. At the same time, when appointing them, the teams of both boxers have the right to veto referees whose competence is in doubt.

Before that, Viktor Fesechko always worked on the two fights between Usyk and Joshua. It should be noted that the head of the WBC came up with the idea of approving six judges at once, not three, to score the fight between Usyk and Fury. He predicted a disaster in the fight if his proposal was not supported.

In turn, the former world champion Carl Froch in the second middleweight division questioned the holding of the Usyk-Fury fight. It became known what advice Volodymyr Klitschko gave to Alexander. Also, the USSR champion Yuri Arbachakov expressed confidence that the Ukrainian would have to take risks in the fight.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk spoke about the problem with holding the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on May 18. The Ukrainian boxer himself named the main strength of the opponent.
