Fury will fight Usyk

The World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will vacate his championship titles after defeating Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, will only keep his current trophy and the prize from The Ring magazine.

Fury, who had previously admitted that he was not interested in the title of absolute world champion, said this in an interview with the iFL TV YouTube channel. He expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious from the confrontation with the Ukrainian boxer, after which he would allow other heavyweights to compete for Usyk's belts.

"I will beat Oleksandr Usyk. I am the WBC world champion, I am the lineal world champion and I will become the world champion for the third time according to The Ring Magazine. I'm not really interested in other belts. I'll just make them vacant and let someone else take them. I will just take what is mine," Fury said.
