Fitso demands not to "prevent Russians from winning" and to allow them to participate in the Olympics
Fitso stood up for Russian aggressors
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitso has once again decided to play along with Kremlin propaganda and opposed the suspension of Russian athletes from the Olympic Games. The politician called sanctions against representatives of the aggressor country the politicization of sport, which allegedly negatively affects the competition.
Fico said this in an interview with Pravda. The head of the Slovak government, who banned military aid to Ukraine after taking office, was outraged by the punishment of the Russians, noting that they were playing in the National Hockey League (NHL).

"First of all, let's note how hypocritical we all are. Why aren't Russian NHL players banned in the US and Canada? And as for the Olympics. Imagine that you have a sporting discipline in which the absolute world leader from Russia or Belarus is at the top of the list. You ban them from competing, and someone who would have won with minimal probability wins. Then what is the value of this gold medal? I would not prevent the athletes from competing, let them show that they can win," Fico said.
