Thin pancakes with a variety of fillings are the main dish of Shrovetide. To make the products truly perfect, you need to prepare the dough correctly. It will not tear and will be elastic if you make a custard base.
The idea of making custard pancakes with milk was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna Movchan. It is very important to add boiling water to the dough.
Ingredients:
- eggs – 3 pcs
- milk – 300 ml
- boiling water – 300 ml
- flour – 250 g
- sugar – 2 tbsp
- salt – 0.5 tsp
- baking soda – 1 tsp (without slide)
- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp
Method of preparation:
1. Break the eggs into a bowl.
2. Add salt and beat until frothy.
3. Then add sugar and mix well again.
4. Pour in the milk and mix.
5. Sift the flour in stages and knead well.
6. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for an hour.
7. Add the baking soda to the boiling water and stir until the baking soda dissolves.
8. Pour boiling water and baking soda into the dough, stirring constantly.
9. Add the oil and finally knead the dough.
10. Fry the pancakes in a well-heated frying pan. For a golden color of pancakes, it is enough to fry for 2 minutes on each side. The frying pan does not need to be greased.
