When you really want to taste something delicious, but don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, you should pick up ready-made puff pastry. It can be used to make a wide variety of dishes, each of which will be radically different from the other.

The recipe for tomato and cheese puffs was shared by a food blogger named kathycoooks. On Instagram, she told us which cheese is best for this dish.

Ingredients:

  • Puff pastry - 500 gr
  • Pesto sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Cheese with blue and white mold - 150 g
  • Pepper
  • Italian herbs
  • Basil
  • Egg yolk - 1 pc
  • Tomatoes - 2 pcs

Method of preparation:

1. Form a rectangle from the thawed puff pastry.

2. Step back about 1.5 cm from the edge of the dough and make cuts around the perimeter without cutting to the end. Thus form the sides.

3. Pierce the center of the dough with a fork around the perimeter.

4. Spread the pesto over the entire surface, leaving the sides untouched.

5. Cut the yellow and pink tomatoes into thin slices.

6. Cut the cheese with blue and white mold into slices.

7. Arrange the tomatoes and cheese as shown in the photo.

8. Add salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.

9. Brush the sides of the dough with egg yolk.

10. Put it in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

11. Garnish with basil and serve.
