Potato paliushky: an interesting recipe for an ancient Ukrainian dish
Paliushky are small pieces of potato dough cooked in salted boiling water. They are ideal for breakfast or as a main course, depending on what additions they are served with.
The pan_fartuh Instagram page showed how to make potato paliushky. This is a rather interesting recipe that combines potatoes with cottage cheese to create an extremely tasty dish.
Ingredients.
- Potatoes - 1 kg.
- Cottage cheese - 300 gr.
- Egg - 1 pc.
- Flour - 300 gr.
- Salt
Ingredients for frying
- Lard/underbelly - 200 gr.
- Onion
Method of preparation
1. Peel the potatoes, cut them and put them in the boiler.
2. Drain the water from the cooked potatoes, mash them and leave them to cool.
3. Chop the cheese and add to the cold potatoes. Stir well.
4. Add the egg, salt and stir.
5. Add 1/3 of the flour and mix.
6. Sprinkle 1/3 of the flour on a work surface, transfer the flour and knead.
7. Sprinkle the rest of the flour over the dough and knead.
8. Form the dough into a roll. Roll in flour.
9. Take a portion of the dough, roll it into a thin roll and divide it into small pieces.
10. Roll out with the palm of your hand, making buns the size of your little finger.
11. Throw them into boiling water. Do not forget to stir so that they do not stick together.
12. Remove as soon as they float.
13.Spread with bacon and onion frying.
