"Pain": Bilodid comments on 2024 Olympics disqualification for first time
Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid has called her performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris a disaster. The two-time world champion, who dropped out at the 1/8 finals after being disqualified during the fight, noted that her dream of gold was destroyed in the French capital.
Bilodid wrote about this on her Instagram page. The 23-year-old from Kyiv also added that she was incredibly impressed by the flurry of messages of support she received in personal messages and comments. She thanked Ukrainians for this reaction.
"Pain, disappointment, an unfulfilled dream... I am so grateful to our people for their incredible support! I am shocked at how many people supported me in my time of need. It is priceless when people are with you not only when you are on the podium, but also in moments of despair. You are incredible! You give me strength and faith in the future! Thank you, thank you, thank you," Bilodid wrote.
We would like to remind you that the Ukrainian lost in a match with Haruka Funakubo from Japan, receiving three warnings, which mean automatic disqualification. After the defeat, Bilodid was unable to contain her emotions - she wrapped her arms around her head and burst into tears. At the same time, the judoka won the opening match of the Games in Paris, destroying her opponent in just six seconds.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head coach of the Ukrainian judo team Vitaliy Dubrova categorically commented on Daria Bilodid's exit from the 2024 Olympics.
