Never store bread like this: expert explains what to do to keep it fresh longer
Bread is one of the main foods for most people in the world. However, it has a very short shelf life and therefore often goes bad.
There are several effective life hacks that can help extend the shelf life of bread and protect it from spoilage. Sophie Carey from Matthews Cotswold Flour told Mirror about them.
Many people think that freezing bread is the best method of storing it. However, according to Sophie, frozen bread can lose its structure and, once thawed, its flavor will change beyond recognition.
To prevent this from happening, you should know how to defrost bread properly. After removing the product from the freezer, leave it at room temperature for 10 minutes. After that, moisten it slightly with water and put it in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. After 10 minutes, the loaf of bread will look like you just bought it from a bakery.
The expert also warns against storing bread in the refrigerator. Even though the temperature is constantly kept low, the humidity in the refrigerator does not allow bread to be stored there. In a short time, mold may appear on it and it will have to be thrown away.
