Lazy but hearty cabbage rolls for lunch without steaming
Instead of preparing traditional cabbage rolls for a long time, you can make a lazy version of the dish. You'll save a lot of time cooking lunch if you use the following recipe. They will be very juicy.
The idea of cooking lazy cabbage rolls with rice for lunch was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname ann.food. You don't have to steam anything.
Ingredients:
- rice - 125 g +250 g of water
- onion - 1 pc
- carrot - 1 pc
- butter - 70 g for frying
- cabbage - 400-500 g
- minced meat mix - 500 g
- spices to taste
- sunflower oil to grease the baking dish
Ingredients for the sauce:
- tomatoes in their own juice - 400 g
- sour cream - 200 g
- salt and pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the rice well and cover it with cold water.
2. Salt lightly and cook for 5 minutes under a closed lid after boiling.
3. Remove from heat and leave for 15 minutes to let the rice cook.
4. Cut the onion into small cubes and grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
5. Finely chop the cabbage with a knife.
6. Melt butter in a frying pan and fry the onion until soft and transparent.
7. Add carrots and simmer for 3 minutes.
8. Add the shredded cabbage and simmer together until the cabbage is soft (about 7 minutes).
9. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper to taste.
10. In a bowl, mix the rice, cooled minced meat and roast. Add spices.
11. Mix thoroughly and form small oblong cutlets.
12. Grease a baking dish with sunflower oil and put the cutlets in a single layer. Try to press them firmly together.
13. For the sauce, combine the chopped tomatoes in their own juice and sour cream.
14. Add salt and pepper and mix well.
15. Pour the mixture over the cutlets and bake at 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
