Latvian apple pancakes: step-by-step recipe for 10 servings
Pancakes are always a good option. And apple pancakes, which originated in Latvia, are an even better idea for a delicious and interesting breakfast.
Food blogger Viktoria Popin shared how to make Latvian apple pancakes on Instagram. She provided a step-by-step recipe, thanks to which you will get 10 delicious pancakes.
Ingredients for the batter
- eggs - 3 pcs
- 20% cream - 250 ml
- milk - 150 ml
- butter - 30 g
- flour - 160 g
- salt - a pinch
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- baking soda - ½ tsp
- 9% vinegar - ¼ tsp
- apples - 2 pcs
Ingredients for the topping
- butter - 2 tsp
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- honey
Method of preparation
1. Beat all the ingredients for the batter in a deep bowl (except for the egg whites) until smooth.
2. Beat the egg whites until stiff and carefully add to the batter.
3. Peel and grate the apples. Add to the base too.
4. Fry in a little oil on both sides until ready, turning over carefully.
5. Top the finished pancakes with butter, pour honey over and sprinkle with cinnamon.
