Julienne with chicken and mushrooms for every day and for a festive table: how to prepare a delicious dish
Julienne is a tender, flavorful, and delicious dish that is ideal for both a festive table and a family dinner. The combination of juicy chicken, flavorful mushrooms, delicate sauce, and viscous cheese creates an unrivaled taste. Despite its sophisticated appearance, julienne is quite simple to prepare and does not require complex ingredients. It's baked in portioned baking dishes, which makes it look spectacular.
The idea of cooking a hearty homemade julienne with chicken and mushrooms was published on the Instagram page of the famous Ukrainian cook Liza Hlinska (lizaglinskaya sweetschool). Try this recipe and it will definitely become one of your favorites.
Ingredients for the filling:
- chicken thighs - 400 g (3-4 pcs.)
- mushrooms - 400 g (about 8 medium)
- onion - 1 pc.
- salt, pepper - to taste
- hard cheese - 100 g
- vegetable oil - for frying
Ingredients for the bechamel sauce:
- butter - 15 g (1 tbsp)
- flour - 15 g (3 tsp)
- cream (10-20%) - 250 ml
- salt - to taste
- nutmeg - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the mushrooms and chicken into small pieces.
2. Peel and dice the onion.
3. Heat the oil in a frying pan, and fry the onion until soft.
4. Add mushrooms, and fry until the liquid evaporates.
5. Add chicken pieces, salt, and pepper, stir, and fry for another 5 minutes.
6. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
7. Add the flour and mix quickly – a paste should form.
8. Heat the mixture for 1 minute, then pour in a third of the cold cream, and mix well.
9. Add the rest of the cream and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
10. Add salt and nutmeg, remove from heat.
11. Mix the prepared bechamel sauce with the chicken and mushrooms.
12. Put the mass into portioned ceramic molds.
13. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
14. Bake in a preheated 200°C oven in the grill or convection mode until golden brown.
